Sometimes things have to be said in blunt terms. Given the situation our country is going through, access to the presidency — and the circle called upon to support its exercise — must stand as a strong marker of ethics, integrity, and moral rigor.
That demands strict rules from the outset. I have decided that these rules must be our compass.
A commitment sealed by signing a charter
I have asked everyone who has chosen to stand with me to sign a contractual commitment to ethics and integrity. This applies in particular to advisers to the presidency.
The same will apply to those who choose to follow me into future roles in Parliament.
This commitment asks them to serve a single cause: the interest of everyone, as set out in the pages that follow. Our direction is clear: apply the vision, carry out the mission, and return wealth to France's working population. Return healthcare and security to the French people.
Give the French people back control over the rules of ethics and integrity that apply to members of Parliament and the government.
Restore high treason among the possible sanctions for those who represent France and the French people. Should they breach, fail, or betray this commitment, they have undertaken to resign from office if the laws allowing for their removal are not yet in force.
Good governance of a country begins with the rules that apply to those who lead it.
